Certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) is one of the greatest distinctions a teacher can achieve. Miami-Dade County Public Schools is proud of its 1267 National Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs) and is committed to encouraging the pursuit of National Board certification, one of the greatest forms of job-embedded professional learning, and to providing opportunities for NBCTs to grow as teacher leaders. This webpage provides information and resources for National Board candidates, potential candidates, and NBCTs.

Please Note: The Florida legislature failed to fund the Dale Hickam Excellent Teaching Program (DHETP) for 2011-2012. Therefore NBCTs in Florida will not receive a DHETP bonus for the 2011-2012 school year.
