The National Certified Professional Secretary (NCPS)
rating is a clear indication of a person’s status
looking to advance in a present position or within the
district. The NCPS rating is attained by passing a two
day examination administered twice a year on the first
Saturday in May and November. The examination consists
of:
Part One - Office Systems and Technology
Part Two – Office Administration
Part Three - Management

Miami-Dade College offers a course to prepare students
to take the Certified Professional Secretary examination.

Full-time secretaries who successfully pass the NCPS
examination shall be eligible for a $1100 supplement.
To receive the supplement, send the original copy of
the NCPS Certificate to Leadership Development, Work
Location 9316, Attention: Non-Instructional Training.
